Officials’ sole release, Real Life, is an artefact of diasporic life in Toronto during the 1980s. The EP, released on the group’s own Foreign Accent Records in 1988, deals with the hardships living as a person-of-colour in Canada, under the shadow of colonialism and racial capitalism. Despite dealing with the experience head-on, the album deploys an irresistible reggae-not-reggae rhythm to convey their social and political message.
