Units is poet Paul Stoddart’s self-released album from 1981. Stoddart previously released an underrated album on legendary Canadian label True North backed by Bruce Cockburn, however here he leaves the ambient/folk backdrop for a slinkier affair; something like a lounge band version of Liquid Liquid. Despite being recorded in rural Lanark, Ontario the album oozes urbanity, like a dive-bar new wave Kerouac. Essential Canadiana.
